Our Story
I’m Nat Matthews, a designer and maker devoted to creating unique, handcrafted pieces from reclaimed and unusual fine timbers. Disheartened by the lack of quality in mass-produced goods, I began creating custom items as gifts for family and friends—things you simply couldn’t find in stores. Before long, those early pieces caught attention, leading to commissions for bespoke furniture and jewellery.
I work primarily with rare, salvaged timbers—sourced from old fallen trees, buildings, forgotten stockpiles, and decommissioned furniture. Each has its own story, rich with character and history. I breathe new life into them - honouring their origins while giving them a second purpose.
Each piece I create is made by hand to maintain the connection with the timber which was once a living tree. As each tree and piece of timber is unique, likewise each piece is unique - never mass-market, never ordinary.
